Invited Talk on “Applications of Forensic Science”

Bhasha Vignana Vedike, in association with the IIC and the R&D Cell of BLDEA’S S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, organized an invited talk titled “Applications of Forensic Science” on 28 February 2026.
The keynote speaker and chief guest for the programme was Dr. Jagannath C. Kadacol, Scientific Officer at the Forensic Science Laboratory. In his address, he created awareness among students and staff about various types of crimes occurring in daily life and explained the scientific methods used in crime investigation.
Using real-life examples and case studies, he demonstrated how forensic science plays a vital role in assisting the police department in solving complex criminal cases through techniques such as fingerprint analysis, DNA testing, cyber forensics, and ballistic examination. His interactive session helped students understand the practical applications of scientific principles in the field of law and justice.
Dr. Kadacol also highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available in forensic laboratories for students from diverse academic backgrounds, including science, commerce, and arts. He encouraged students to explore forensic science as a promising and socially impactful career option.
The programme was highly informative and beneficial, enhancing students’ knowledge about forensic science and its real-world applications.
